Christmas & New Year 2020 wishes

24th December, 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus every year the Christmas story leads us to a manger where we find the newborn Jesus surrounded by love, compassion and care, despite the poverty he is embracing.

It was God’s plan to reveal himself to us through the face of the poor… “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9). When the shepherds came to worship the Messiah, the Son of God, the King of Israel… all they found was a baby in swaddling clothes laying in a smelly manger, among animals. But they saw the face of God as they looked in the eyes of baby Jesus!

At Christmas, however, we remember and rejoice at Christ’s coming to a weary world. Our faith teaches us that we must have trust in Divine Providence.  We must not succumb to the weariness of our society’s misfortunes.Pope Francis emphasizes and shares his concern about reaching out to the poor,we must be a “thrill of hope” to the poor, to those who are marginalised & underprivileged, those affected by disease and hunger, and to all children who are our most precious resource.

While we anticipate this second coming, how can we be a thrill of hope to our neighbors this Christmas, I pray that each member of the Prayer Groups in the City of Mumbai has the strength to face the challenges in our daily lives with a heart of love and peace.

The mission of the Church, and the mission of our CCR is “Love Others as Christ Loves You!”, is all about recognizing the face of God by looking into the eyes of our brothers and sisters. The miraculous ability to see beyond the environment of a cattle shed, turned into a place of hospitality, security and love, is a sign to the renewal of the possibilities for ministry we have.

I thank God for you and I am most grateful for your presence with the Renewal in the City of Mumbai. On behalf of all the Team Members of the English Council I wish you and your Prayer Group,  & Families A Very Holy Christmas and A Happy New Year 2020
