Dear Brothers and Sisters in CHRIST JESUS,

"Blessed are the Merciful, for they will be shown Mercy".(Mat 5:7)

A year has almost gone by and a new year begins! So for the year that will be, I would like to recommend to you to take up the call of our Pope in living this year in the spirit of what the Church calls:
The Year of Mercy: The year begins on the 8th of December 2015 (Feast of the Immaculate Conception) and will close on the 20th of November 2016 (Feast of Christ the King). The moo is taken from Luke 6:36. Be Merciful Even As Your Father Is Merciful (RSV).You can work as a group or ministry or cell and encourage each other in doing Spiritual and /or Corporal works of Mercy.

I am listing them down for your immediate reference.(Spiritual works of Mercy :1) Instruct the Ignorant, 2) Counsel the doubul,3) Admonish the Sinner,4) Bear wrongs paently,5) Forgive offences willingly,6) Comfort the Sorrowful and 7) Pray for the living and the dead.
Likewise the Corporal Works of Mercy are as given in Mt 25:35‐37 : Feeding the hungry; Giving drink to the thirsty; Clothing the Naked ; Sheltering the Homeless ; Visiting the imprisoned and the Sick ; and finally , Burying the Dead)

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Seeing with the eyes of Christ will make us exceedingly uncomfortable if all these pious thoughts are not accompanied with worthy actions James 1:22 instructs us: Do not be hearers ONLY but be DOERS of the Word. If we look honestly into our hearts, I am sure you will agree with me that too long we have largely dwelled on the first part of being 'Hearers only'. Being 'doers' will necessarily mean that we take up earnestly and with vigor some aspects of what has been outlined above in the Spiritual and Corporal works of Mercy.

At this time I must make mention of the satisfaction I have experienced at the active support and encouragement of our Episcopal Bishop : His Lordship Bishop Dominic Savio and the BST, ZCs, Prayer group Leaders and you my dear people. Your active involvement can be seen from the fact that all the programmes organized for you have always got a good response. There has been a definite growth in the numbers attending the prayer meetings as well as the level and intensity of the Intercession. I am sure you will reap rich rewards for all the labor that you have put in.

I cannot end without mentioning the Youth. They have worked as a group to reach out to other youth as well as they have integrated themselves in their own prayer groups...

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm and Happy Blessed and Spirit led New Year 2016!
