
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus every year the Christmas story leads us to a manger where we find the newborn Jesus surrounded by love, compassion and care, despite the poverty he is embracing. It was God’s plan to reveal himself to us through the face of the poor… “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9). When the shepherds came to worship the Messiah, the Son of God, the King of Israel… all they found was a baby in swaddling clothes laying in a smelly manger, among animals.
